PUBLIC NOTICE

CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF CHOCOLAY

Notice is hereby given that the Charter Township of
Chocolay Planning Commission will hold a public hearing
on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the Charter Township of Chocolay Hall located at 5010 US-41 South, Marquette, MI to discuss amending Section, 6.9 Home
Occupations, (Page 57) of the Chocolay Township Zoning
Ordinance.

Chocolay Township is proposing to amend Section 6.9 to allow home occupations as a permitted use in residential
zoning districts. If the home occupation requires an
employee, whose primary address is elsewhere, the
proposed or current home occupation is required to
apply for a conditional use permit.

Copies of the proposed amendment are available for
review and inspection at the following location:
Chocolay Township Hall. Our Township Office is open
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. � 5:00 p.m. Written comments
will be received up until February 2, 2012.

The public is hereby urged to be present for this
discussion and persons desiring to be heard on the
proposal as stated above should appear at the time and

Meeting Rules For A Public Hearing

-Public comment must await recognition of the speaker by the moderator. Comments are to be directed to the Board or Commission, not other members of the public.

-The speaker recognized shall first state his or her name and address before comment.

-Comments, opinions or questions should be directed to the issue being discussed.

-To ensure that everyone has time to speak, three minutes is allowed per person. The chair may or may not allow each person one additional time period to present questions or comments.

-Board and Commission members will take comments, but may or may not respond. If a written request is made, the response will be sent in writing to the requestor within 14 days.
